  when i try to run eclipse project i get this error:
  Method cannot be resolved to a type
  for this line:
  Method method = getClass().getMethod("setPreserveEGLContextOnPause", boolean.class);
  
  can you help me what i should do?

  sorry for bothering again, yet the things i did with rendertotexture do not show up when running the eclipse project on a 2.3.3 android emulator.
  it works ok on my win gideros player.
  i have yet to check the apk on an actual android device and also i have yet to see what happens with running on an android with the player, though these will have to wait until tomorrow.
  
  in eclipse logcat i got many of these lines: called unimplemented OpenGl ES API
  it may be related to the problem.

  Android emulator has OpenGL ES 1.0 implementation where Gideros uses OpenGL ES 1.1. Also most probably render to texture is not supported on Android emulator. You should use a real device.

  @Atilim, if the releases could be named after when they were released, like 2013.07.1 (for the first release in July 2013) and 2013.07.3 (for the third release, if there were three) it would be easier to keep track of, it is much better and easier than 2013.06.2

  i agree with @OZApps. also, if you want, you can still somehow emphasize if a release is major or just bugfix with some additional letter at the end or whatever other way.

  I can't see how 2013.07.1 2013.07.2 and so on is any easier than 2013.06.1 2013.06.2 2012.06.3 unless you are interested in knowing in which month the release happened. Otherwise it makes no odds as far as I can see. Just my opinion

  You're all right. After moving to OpenGL ES 2.0, we'll use http://semver.org/ (starting as Gideros 2.0.0).

  I think year.month.version scheme doesn't suit Gideros well and instead of improvements on it, it's better to change it.

  We've released a patch version that only adds a

  import java.lang.reflect.Method;

  line to the Android template. Either you can download the new version, or manually modify the Android template.

  What error does it give?

  I ran it on my Jellybean Galaxy Tab 7.0 II and it works fine. I ran the same player apk on my Froyo Galaxy Tab 5.0 S and I get...
  
  'Sorry! The application GiderosAndroidPlayer (process com.giderosmobile.android.player) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.'
  
  ...It's the android player that comes in the latest sdk download 2013.06.2 ...the previous one works ok.

  @MobAmuse Your device cannot create a RGB 888 OpenGL surface and therefore you're getting EGL_BAD_MATCH error (it's unfortunate that my test devices and android emulator couldn't catch this error).
  
  If you want, you can find and remove

  setEGLConfigChooser(8, 8, 8, 0, 0, 0);

  line while I'm creating the patch release.

  @MobAmuse I've removed the line setEGLConfigChooser(8, 8, 8, 0, 0, 0); and uploaded a new release as 2013.06.3. Now it should work on your device without any problem.
