Vertex Colours

Just a random thought but maybe it's something to think about. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has thought about Vertex colours.

Is there any chance vertex colours could be added to shapes to allow for gradient filled shapes?

yes, I'm planning to add Shape.GRADIENT (along with Shape.SOLID and Shape.TEXTURE)

For simple gradients (2 color gradients), it will use vertex colors and for complex ones it will use 128x1 or 256x1 gradient textures.

Just curious, will Shape.TEXTURE allow us to change UV coordinate for each polygon/shape vertexes? It will really help creating trail effect such as in Fruit Ninja, etc

You can generate some really nice background effects by modulating the individual RGB components of vertex colours on a simple sine wave.

+++1 for this feature (any idea when?) - so many features, so few release slots

@Nascode no. but you can clean and recreate the shape at each frame with a different texture matrix. the triangulation behind is very efficient and I'm sure there won't be any performance problems.
