Hmm, thats really interesting, so if you guys would have to choose only one, lets say, between Desktop, WP8, Blackberry and HTML5, what would it be?
I'd go Desktop, explained earlier as to why Desktop.
HTML might be tempting, but there would be more issues with that given different browsers, network speeds, etc. We already have the Desktop Gideros Players, so we know what we can get if it was Desktop, so I'd bank on something that is closely possible and works than something that might have other issues and cause users to hate it.
@ar2rsawseen the things about the poll is that it doesn't take into account how long to support. HTML5 support is probably very hard, desktop easier with much of the work done already for the Players. If you had asked something like:
Which one platform you would like to see added to Gideros next: - Desktop (Mac/Win) (released in 4 months) - HTML5 (released (say) in 12 months) - WP8 (released (say) in 6 months)
I'm betting Desktop support would be even further ahead.

I find selling through the Mac App store works very well. Don't sell as many copies compared to iOS, but the price point is higher so greater $$$ per sale.
Windows 8 App store is not so good, but this may improve as it matures.

I can understand your point as Mac Apps are not a Big thing as yet in India, I faced a lot of resistance amongst a lot of people about Macs (for another discussion). However, for a lot of western countries Macs are common in use and people actually spend a fair amount of money on Mac Apps. Similarly even for Windows, using FREE software (aka pirated) is not as common as it used to be, while individuals might still use torrented software, or copies that fell from the back of a truck, corporations and organisations spend a fair bit of money on licensing software.
So to answer your question, if you are looking at just the Indian market, they yes you are unsure about making money off the App stores, there are no iTunes cards, Google Play Cards as yet. I did mention that I was surprised to see a person applying for a credit card because he had purchased a new iPhone and needed it to download apps.
Upload some amazing apps, you can get a fair bit out of it. People will buy Surfaces (not RT, but Pro) and will need software to show off their shiny gadgets and will spend money.
I went to the poll with the intention of clicking "HTML5", but can't stop hesitating. In order to vote for anything other than WP8, I need to be certain that WP8 is going to disappear.
I think there's a chance WP8 could secure 10% of the global smartphone market in the new few years. I think anything greater than 2% is worth catering for.
What do you think?

for mac/win what about steam, desura and other game stores as a possible way of monetization? of course these are not aimed at 'touchy' tablet-oriented games, but if there would be desktop support why should not we make games with support (also) for non-touch devices. with ouya this is already happening anyway.
as a long time plan e.g. i would like to make a classic poin'n'click adventure. such a game can work well with mouse and touch devices at the same time. these types of games are still rare on android, mostly cheap and bad ones or remakes, so it is a good place to sell. on the other hand most adventure-gamers play on pc's and are willing to pay more on a pc, so selling on pc is also an evidently good opportunity. so having both would be a winner option.
I haven't voted yet. @Ar2rsawseen, when will the poll close?

Ha, ha. Sorry, mate. By the way, have you seen anyone with a Windows Phone in your neighbourhood?

In Brisbane, I have seen quite a few Windows Phone, specially the Mortzart ones. I have also seen lumia's here and in India. I have a windows Phone too, and I don't use it because I cannot download apps, it is funny the way Microsoft has it setup, so I gave up and don't use it any more, not even for testing.

I would have thought 3rd party stores have no future compared with app stores integrated into the OS.
