Automatically add thousand of assets to a project

Hello,
I'm searching for a quick way to insert into a Gideros project a big number of files under different folders (to add the @2x version of any image already present). I have not found a way to do this automatically from the (Windows) editor, so I plan to use a macro to edit the .gproj as a text file and adding them this way, is this permitted to tamper the .gproj or can cause problems?
Am I the going the wrong way and already exist a better way to do this?

It won't be any problems. As you see it's a simple and understandable xml file and you can generate/change it as you want.
