We would like to inform you about important updates concerning the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The GDPR applies to all European and non-European companies that use online solutions to advertise and track its performance on their websites and in applications used by residents of the European Economic Area (EEA
) and the United Kingdom.
• Integration with TCF 2.0
from IAB. Google integrates AdMob with IAB Europe's Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) 2.0 certification system
in accordance with its policies and specifications. Reading and transmitting the data disclosure and user consent (TC line) for all ad requests will begin after the IAB fully transitions from TCF version 1.1 to 2.0, but for a small percentage of traffic, we plan to make changes two weeks earlier. Publishers do not have to use the TCF 2.0 system from IAB. You can continue to use other means that comply with our EU User Consent Policy

• Google has defined an interim technical specification (so-called additional consent mode
) that applies only in conjunction with IAB Europe's Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF) 2.0 certification for vendors not yet registered with the IAB Europe Global Vendor List. . This specification allows publishers, consent management platforms, and partners to obtain additional sharing from users and share it (while implementing TCF 2.0) with companies that have not yet registered with the IAB Europe Global Vendor List but are on the advertising technology vendor list. . If you want to continue working with these ad vendors, make sure the consent management platform you're working with has implemented additional consent mode
• Funding Choices will support the TCF 2.0
system from IAB. Funding Choices is Google's consent management platform (CMP), which will eventually replace the current Consent SDK. We are developing a support function for the Transparency and Consent Framework 2.0 certification system from IAB. By creating a consent form for the processing of personal data for your application through Funding Choices, you will be able to use the IAB system to ask users for consent to the confidentiality of electronic communications and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Funding Choices will provide support for the additional consent mode
mentioned above. In addition, publishers will be able to automatically create Funding Choices accounts directly in their AdMob account. To learn more, check out this article.
