I got a question about one of gideros features

Hi everyone I'm Taylor you can call me MrBoolean, or Bullet, now anyway I wanted to know what did Gideros meant when the features support 32-bit textures? Is that the graphics or is it the depth of the texture atlas?

what do you mean by 32-bit graphics? I think that would refer to the R, G, B, A (8 bits x4 = 32 bits) so it would be the texture depth. Unless there is something that I might have missed.

well 32-bit graphics, in most pixel editors, you can select the color palette for 16 colors(8bit) 256 colors(16-bit) and I'm not sure what is the color selection for 32-bit graphics. okay one more unrelated question, what is the best way to make iOS icons? PhotoShop? Illustrator? or is there a software for windows that is either free or moderatley priced icon design software?

For windows there was one I remember http://www.axialis.com/purchase/iw.html this used to be my favourite when I used to work on Windows platform from early to mid 2000's. if you want to go on a budget, then you can try Paint.Net http://www.getpaint.net
I have not used the windows environment for a very long time so not sure if there are any other software that might offer better features.

what is the best way to make iOS icons?

I don't think that how to create iOS/Android/Windows or OSX (os specific) icons is the real question.
It's more like : bitmap or vector based?
What are your target platforms? Do you need your gfx to be scalable?
How often will you need to update and reuse it for other projects?

Free and open source alternatives, the obvious choices :
Bitmap -> The gimp
Vector-based -> Inkscape

Others :
- Paint.net
- Online suite -> Aviary (Image Editor, Vector Editor, Audio Editor and much more)
- Online Editor -> Sumo Paint (Direct link to the editor)

well okay I already have GIMP, Illustrator CS5, and PhotoShop, so yeah for some reason I thought I needed to convert the icon to a certain file within the editor(Photoshop/Illustrator), most likely I'll be using Illustrator for the Line Art, and PhotoShop to color things in, it may be too much, but I have an artistic side as well, so I know a few methods for comics, so I'll use the same for all art assets.
