Hello everyone!

I've been working on my first game since this spring, and today I managed to put the finishing touches on version 1.0 and published it on Google Play! Previous to the development of this game I had very little programming experience, and I could not have accomplished what I did without the support of this community!

Leyenda is a simple infinitely scrolling platformer with a unique art style and an original soundtrack! Control your jumps and flight by tapping anywhere on the screen. See how far you can get!

I've decided to charge $0.99 CDN for the title. I would have liked to have started it out for free and then charge later, but it appears as though that is not an option with Google

Now, a word of warning: I did not get to test this game on many devices. Although it is compatible with many on the Google Play store, I have no idea as to how many issues will arise in the near future. Email me if you are not satisfied with your purchase and I will refund your money and make appropriate changes to the game as I update it.

Finally, I would love to hear feedback on my project. What do you like? What do I need to change?

also could you make your description longer currently it is too small in android market there is no thing like keywords it will taken from description so long description is comparatively good.

I agree with @gorkem, a few more screen shots and do a bit more to "sell" the game.

Tiny Wings works because of the story behind the game, it aims to get the player to become emotionally attached to the little bird

Congrats on your release. I have to agree with @gorkem, @hgvyas123 & @techdojo. Also maybe rotate your images to make them easier to view. do you have a way of recording a video of how the game plays as that will also help. See how @glennbjr has presented his game Jewel Bust which has a forum discussion here

Thank you for all of the kind words! It feels awesome to get this thing out the door (although I'm finding that finishing the game was only half the work).

I'll be working today on revamping the promotional side of the title. I like the idea of a video, I'll definitely be looking into that.

EDIT:

I almost forgot! Although it's a paid app, I have turned off the copy protection for it. If you have purchased the game and would like to share it with friends, please do! On a related note, will a copied version of an app installed on another device register as an install on Google Play? This won't effect my policy, it would just be nice to know.

I really love the mood that this app sets. Love the graphics and music.
I guess you can also play on user's emotions with some little back story, of an ostrich who in his dreams can finally fly.

Hey everyone, Leyenda is now free (or will be as soon as the Google Play page updates)!

In short, it wasn't selling (no real surprise there), but more importantly not a lot of people were playing it. This was something I wanted to share with people, get feedback on, and then take what I've learned to my new project.

So.... check it out if you've got an Android phone and let me know what you think!

Hello. Nice performance on armv6 device Alcatel ot-908 (little lags only sometimes). There is some problem with scaling: 'L' letter from the title is missing. If I may, I would recommend to add pause button and jump button for sure to controlling process (some semi-transparent rounded object). Little sad climate for me, but it should be official game of 'Save The Planet' foundation or sth like that (very educational purpose). Anyway congrats and keep going! 1290 meters at 5th attempt.

@joelghill I will go grab a copy. You may want to think of integrating something like kiip.me into the game to earn money, the android market seems to favor ad based games over paid ones--not true with the nook, or with Apple's Appstore, but with Android is really seems to be the case. My paid apps have never done well with Android heh

I'll let you know how I do in the game CongoRatz on keeping up the work.

@joelghill downloaded and rated it for you. Interesting game, certainly harder then it looks lol, confused me a bit with landscapeRight but no biggie just turned the phone heh

I did notice my screen was showing white bars on either side--my guess is you could increase the size of the background images and fix it, my Droid X has a wider screen then normal, but it would probably show up on tablets as well. (But for all I know it's how it is supposed to look heh)

Anyway good job, it plays well no lag or anything. Like the high-scores chart.

I can see a few complaints coming in the future saying your game made me crack my screen. Just like Daly Thompson was blamed for breaking joysticks and keyboards

Thanks everyone for the heads up on the scaling issues... bonehead mistake on my part :P I'll roll out an update ASAP to fix them.

Oh, one more thing. Here's a link to the project files (minus the assets) if you want to take a look at how I did it. Be warned, it is written and commented poorly. I learned how to program as I wrote the game :P
