This is probably a lua/gideros noob question but is there an easy ways to save off things like settings/on close and have their values restord on launch? For example I want to save the current selected buttons so I would just save their name and state. Anyone got a code snippet?

@BlueByLiquid, most people probably do this by saving and loading a JSON file:

function MyGame:loadGameState()
	local file = io.open("MyGameSettings.dat", "r")
	if file==nil then 
		self.gameState={score=0}
	else
		local contents = file:read("*a")
		io.close( file )
		bhDebugf("Loaded games data %s", contents)	
		self.gameState=Json.Decode(contents)
	end
end
 
function MyGame:saveGameState()
	local s=Json.Encode(self.gameState)	
	local file=io.open("MyGameSettings.dat", "w")
	if file==nil then 
		bhDebugf("Error opening games data %s", "MyGameSettings.dat")
		return false
	end
	file:write(s)
	file:close()
	return true
end
 
function MyGame:bumpScore(amount)
        self.gameState.score=self.gameState.score+amount
        self:saveGameState()
end

I've attached a Json.lua (there are probably others) just in case you don't have one already.
