Fancy? - Nah, man. It's normal. I am fairly confident that most Gideros users are not from North America. They are from the rest of the world. "Centre" is the correct spelling. Cheers.
By the way, may I reiterate: The new website is great. It is clear that you've been working very hard. It not only looks great, but more clearly directs the user (us users) to helpful content.
Thanks, mate. Platypus

One reason I chose Gideros was because it is not American. Let's celebrate that. Don't be afraid. Be confident and proud to use international English.

I don't think it will most likely matter too much so long as you're consistent. So I'd just pick one form of English and spell everything that way then. I don't think an american is going to be confused by international spelling, nor vice versa.
I could change that, but there are so many links through out the website and forum to the Developer Center, that it would be unwise to change the url of Developer Centre. Now if the name is Developer Centre and link is Developer Center, that might start confusing people, since we can't change url, for consistency, we'll stick with developer center. How ever, if in future we will establish any more centres, we'll try to call them correctly
I know you guys love transparency, so we will try to take baby steps to that direction. Please bear with us But here's the start: http://giderosmobile.com/roadmap
what a roadmap. all one can imagine and more. isn't there an option that if everybody who uses gideros for free pays now than you clone atilim or hire lot's of programmers or whatever you want and realize all features in a month? or you could do a kickstarter for kickstarting development?
@keszegh can 9 pregnant women deliver 1 baby in one month? Both @atilim and @deniz had to attend lots of meetings lately, so @atilim spent a lot of time away from his computer, but it is almost over now, and soon hopefully things will speed up.
@phongtt looks awesome Is there any more info you want to include? Any other features? Maybe implementing HTML editor in the text box would proof useful?
if nothing serious pops up with the website, native UI is my priority. All the docs is the background stuff I do right now. And also couple of plugins from time to time
@ar2rsawseen could you check out scaling problem of main banner under PC (high resolution issue when you are scaling window) at my site: http://www.giderosmobile.com/dev/My-name-is-Originality Once again thanks for the great opportunity to make own site! [edit:] Could you add on developer site also a direct link (same like to apps) to forum user like for example in my case 'fxone'...?
@ar2rsawseen Ok I found a temporary solution: for a main banner 1600x564 on the site the main "displayed" picture should have 800 px at maximum width and the rest is simple black background then shouldn't be any problems with scaling issue at high/medium resolution for example 1366x768 ... of course when you have centralized concept as mine.
Ok I've added a little padding when menu bar sticks to the website on small resolution, and added a a height of bg header on large resolutions and it seems it could even work in any res now.
The last thing is the resolution and resizes to allow to be featured on the main slider in future, once I've figure that, I could provide much better specification on creating promo background graphic
@ar2rsaween I think you should require third party providers to put a price directly next to their links (blue buttons in that page) when it's not free. -> "Price" icon when browsing at a category level + way to filter from search results
I have spent a few minutes clicking and clicking in loop just to understand that lot of those things are paid and not provided by Gideros. I have nothing against that but it's frustrating to get the info only when on the final page.
Also (following my previous point) can you please differentiate what is provided by Gideros and what is not, I would like to be able to filter out third party libs (so that I know what is supported and what is not). As there is no barrier to entry, I have no doubts that lot of those libs are simply put on a page and forgotten by their dev. -> "Gideros supported" icon when browsing at a category level + way to filter from search results
Or you call it a marketplace which has a different purpose.
@Mells, I think most of what is provided by Gideros is generally made available with the Gideros Distribution. The tools are as of now 3rd Party and the top few from me are Charged and the rest by Arturs are OpenSource and free.
It would be a good idea to have a different button that indicates free/commercial.
@Mells good idea about paid components, right now I have field License, so user can enter license or price there. I can simply output the contents of this field on the button
On the second point, well actually no Gideros tools are listed, basically it is all 3rd party tools by Gideros community. What exactly tools created by Gideros you had in mind? Like listing all the internal Gideros plugins, etc? Do you think that is required?
It would be a good idea to have a different button that indicates free/commercial.
I think it would be better to have a price instead of "free/commercial" as I suggested so it's not necessary to dig at each tool's level to know how much it costs.
That's a tricky thing and only you can answer Lot of the libs were developed by you. And you are now part of Gideros. Do you support the libs? And if yes, do you do it as an individual or as a Gideros member? In the latter, wouldn't it make sense to provide your libs under the Gideros banner, downloadable from the official site (which would look like a more trustable site for newcomers) and label it as "Provided and supported by Gideros"?
I also added the checkbox indicating if tool is free or not on the add/edit tool page.
I hope @OZApps won't mind I've updated all of his tools to paid.
@Mells, it IS tricky question, I usually provide support for tools, but right now I'd rather work more on Gideros features
And to mark them as Gideros created, I should probably update them and make them more generic and provide more thorough docs and stuff. For now that seems too time consuming
I just don't feel qualified enough to put something under @atilim's flag
But it is definitely a thing to consider, because there are libs like GTween and SceneManager etc
What do you say about this approach: 1600x500 banner with 900x320px visible content in any resolution, recommended format jpg, like this:
And here is an overlay to use in your graphic editors as photoshop, to put on as top layer and see what will be visible and what may not, and adjust the image accordingly:
Hi The new website is very nice - but not on my iPhone browser. Given that the site address is giderosMOBILE.com and that most apps using Gideros are for mobile devices, why cannot a re write of the main site include mobile browser compatability?
The forum is mobile compatible so why not the main site?

If Gideros can have features not only for Game Making but also for Business type apps, then that could help quite a few developers.

main site should be responsive, which implies that it should also handle mobile devices. What exact problems are you having?
