  @oleg, yes Gideros has that built into it. That does not however open native file dialog boxes.
  
  @MoKaLux has said that the media plugin does provide you with access to native file dialogs, but with all of its other baggage it is not an optimal solution to the problem of Gideros lacking native file dialogs.

  @MoKaLux I should really have a look at what the media plugin can do... I've always just overlooked it hehehe. I do thin that Gideros totally needs a small dedicated native file requesting plugin... that would totally propel web based and desktop based Gideros through the stratosphere!

  I do not need native dialogue, I will make my own dialogue by means of gideros

  You do know however that attempting to access windows libraries, homegroups, network locations, quick links... is pretty much impossible using lua filesystem right?
  
  I think the point I am trying to make is... let the OS do the heavy lifting when it comes to hugely complex tasks such as this
