I have very little time lately to work on my own games (the main reason I found Gideros and started using it
)
But from now and then I gather little time and create simple games to test out different new plugins and features. I stopped publishing them in this forum for some time now, but this one I wanted to share with you.
Because it is special in a way, that it is made from free assets found on the internet, and the assets that were not found and were created by tutorials and personal experience (not a designer) were published for free use.
I hope no eyes will bleed seeing it

You're right, you need time to do arts and can be frustrating not find the design you like and also it's the issue that you have to trust that the arts will be appreciated for others.
So the video game design is so exciting because it's one of the few fields where mathematics, physic, engineering and art converge. >-

It's difficult to do a good design specially if you aren't a designer.
Cool effects.
Btw, I suppose you have created with the last version of Gideros.
How have you generated for the 2.2 Android version ?

unfortunately I'm not alone on that part of the business and it is not related to Gideros, but to other project I am in (Jenots.com).
But if there will be a bigger project there to take their minds of in future, most probably I will be able to sneak in an open sourcing
Are those chartboost interstitials?

@john26 hosting? no problem. I can create a special page for it and we can also write a blog post on Gideros blog and promote it through Gideros social channels.
But before you open source it, think twice as there will be no way back and you might still not get the attention you are expecting
I think there is good amount of information and resources on this forum so you can create your app . It is also true that you have to dig a little on this forum to find what you want, but generally you get what you want.
In my humble opinion ( I should clarify that I started a year ago as a beginner and as programmer here ) the problem is how to integrate your project with Xcode ( I have not tried with android, that will be another reason to post) I think that's one of the weak points here, but this also is because Apple is constantly updating its business rules and Xcode ( iOS 8 is also coming) .
I think this may be a bit frustrating if you start it you as a beginner in the development of applications and also as programmer, you going from a simple scheme like Lua Gideros to a more sophisticated as Xcode with its Objective- C and all those plugins you add blind to operate your Lua source code.
My suggestion as a beginner in Gideros (and programming) started a year ago , we strengthen this aspect before searching implement resource page (engines samples) , as you will always have the last line of battle and the feeling of kicking the board because you do not get an approved application in the App Store and you ask if it was successful you start a project here (Gideros) or elsewhere, because you will ask yourself if you were not the target user Gideros (ie Gideros is not like Game Salad, you need a deeper understanding of programming).
Finally it would be interesting to have some simple source code (small engines from 100 to 200 lines of code) for beginners type game "snake", "puzzles", etc. so they are a bit familiar with Lua and the class system Gideros used and OOP too.
