Don't be fooled by Garageband's toyish "prosumer" appearance (like I was for years.) It's actually Logic under the hood and is *incredibly* powerful. I worked for 10 years as a composer and sold off my gear years ago. Had to score my daughter's musical a couple of years back and decided to really see what Garageband could do and was stunned to see it replaced about $20K worth of gear I use to own. I couldn't believe the sounds coming out of my Mac. The effect plugins are also extremely powerful and easy to use.

@Apollo14 була така ситуація, випустили гру автор музику виклав вільно, - а потім він змінив ліцензію коли гра вийшла. тому для великих проектів контракт обов'язкоий навіть якщо музика безкоштовна
I downloaded one of their previous packs and whilst the sounds are very good, they are mostly no good for small mobile games since the sounds are very large in size.

but we can convert them with lower bitrate

@antix you're a keen Gimper, so (I can't believe I'm about to recommend the benchmark for bad UI experience) you may be a fan of Audacity, an open source audio editor. You'd be able to save any high quality sound down to any nitrate, as well as modify it.
@totebo, I'm a Gimper for sure but only because it's free and I now k ow my way around it's klunky dated interface a bit
I have looked once at Audacity and thought.. This is just too much for my pee brain
@Apollo14 I use Waveosaur to edit wav files and I don;t know if decreasing would make them very much smaller. I will try one if I can find that other 15GB archive
@antix Uncompressed audio is much like uncompressed bitmaps. You can just change the "resolution" (bit rate) to have it contain less data, and therefore weigh less. Of course this also makes it sound differently, all the way down to 8 bit scratches.
I always like to start with as high resolution/bit rate as possible and downsample. So I am interested to "hear more" about this high quality sound archive of yours!

Can't believe the pocketknive's list is missing Audacity or Garageband.

Garageband is usually free since it comes with your Mac.

My high quality sounds are just one of Soniss's previously released packs, from 2016 I think.
