At the moment my only Android device is a Dell Inspiron laptop (Atom processor, 1366x720 screen) running Android-x86 (image "android-x86-4.0-RC2-tegav2"). In general, I've been surprised how well this works and it seems to handle most of the games I've tried downloading from the Google Play store. I've been able to install the Gideros Player and run all the examples as well as deploy them via Eclipse. However, I've just been trying to download some of the made-with-Gideros games mentioned on the forum, and they all come up with the warning: "Your device isn't compatible with this version" and won't install. Any thoughts on why this is...? I'm not sure how Google Play decides whether an app is compatible with your device or not.

Edit: sorry it's my fault. After checking I found that you're running Android version 4.
Ultimate Games on Appstore
Ultimate Games on Google Play
By contrast, I've being playing games like Angry Birds, Beyond Ynth and others with no problems. Some games won't run (eg Bad Piggies) but they still install...very few show this error which prevents installation in the Google Play store. I'm not sure if it's the resolution, or the CPU, or what. (I'm no Android expert, and haven't been able to change the resolution to experiment.)

It must be something to do with the manifest?

Currently, I'm suspecting from GPS permission set in AndroidManifest.xml. I think it's time to put some options to Android export dialog to enable/disable GPS, internet access, etc. etc.
btw, is copy protection same with google licensing?

Maybe his setup has something enabled (that we have disabled) that when HE compiles it makes it enables the arm emulation? If so, maybe someone should send him a apk of the player - if it doesn't work then maybe that might be it?
Re protection: The copyright protection system is a 'bit' that gets set when you download fom google play that says the file cannot be copied from main memory to sd card. If you root then you can bypass this flag which almost every pirate has done. It has been discontinued. Now google have a system called lvl which checks licences randomly if the internet can be reached, it's much better. It only works for apps bought from the appstore however. You have to do a different apk for other appstores.
The way forward maybe a better GiderOS export system - where you can export to multiple destinations at the same time. So you can then just go to eclipse and do the tinkering to 5 or 6 different projects (one for each appstore). Or better still GiderOS produce the apks?

btw: If anyone has a tutorial (or know how) on how to add lvl to a gideros project through to apk generation please can you post it on this forum. I've read and re-read how to do it and can't get it to work - I must be missing something somewhere (it's supposed to be simple !!!! Grrr!!!! ) but I just don't know what.

1. export from command line
2. create build.xml with "android update project"
3. call ant

I just came across this thread...
http://www.giderosmobile.com/forum/discussion/1140
...and tried "Filin Banyosu"...that works fine.
It looks that Angry Birds and other games have implemented native libraries for x86, thus you can install them directly from Google Play...

[EDIT:] One more: We must investigate Gideros SDK's version of those games, which can be downloaded on x86 machine. I suppose that are older versions..
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=My+name+is+Originality
It also says that there must be a x86 support. So it may be used as a test for apps to see which support one.
Unfortunately Mashballs can't be uploaded there
