Hi @atilim - any chance we can get 720 x 1280 added into the resolution list for the desktop players please. Would be useful to test the Galaxy S3's resolution.
yes, custom resolution would be the solution for me as well. this way we can manually substract the size of the bottom and top bars on android tablets etc.
Yes custom resolution would be ideal but I figured it would be easier for @atilim just to add in another resolution that's conspicuous by its absence at the moment
@atilim Looks like a lot of phones will be coming out with full 1080P... maybe another fast addition might be needed?

?? Why do you say that? Using an iPad 3 as a entertainment unit, it is quite impressive, the only let down is the memory, it should come with 32 as base standard memory at least.
That is where Gideros can be a very good option, it has Vector Graphics in the form of the Shape object. It is just a matter of time, when we shall once again have smaller sized files due to vector graphics and MIDI type sound/music. In fact whoever makes a sound library for the mobile platform that will create music like the SID or the AY chips (feels like a discussion had before) will create a revolution of amazing sound/music in a small sized files and package.
Look at the app called PaintCode it creates code to create an object using vector graphics and can also save to a raster format. Soon with the hi-res most UI's would start to be created with vector graphics. We have GiderosIllustrator library that can allow for (SVG) vector graphics to be used it is about extending that to be useful for animation (Spriter is using some techniques rather than frame-by-frame cell animation) that's the way things are headed.
So having 1920x1080 and 2048x1536 are not bad, in fact that is how we will be able to have our hi-res tablets for a very long time in the 9-10" format. I do not think we can go more hi-res than retina and be able to see it, but we could have something like the lenticular displays that would allow for dual screens on the same depending on the direction we view the tablet from (Sharp had some demos a couple of years ago).

@hgvyas123, the 1080 is not 21", my 60" TV is 1080 and the iPad 3 (9") is greater than 1080

This is what the Microsoft DS would look like (it was called Courier) and could also double as a very good development machine (provided it had the grunt not an Atom chip)
