@techdojo you could always added him to that conversation to prove it
Yeah - but I wanted it to be a surprise, like a "secret santa" kind of thing

@Waulok and @Phongtt, get yourself some SD cards with2 /4 GB capacity you will need multiple for different distros. You might want to swap the cards (like tapes in the old days) for different functionality. One could be a server, another media center, etc The Barracuda site (hope I got the spelling right) is running off a pi. Plus you can use the NGNIX server for serving Lua based web pages.
I want to try the alternative boards with in-built RAM and a slightly better CPU and capable of running Android builds. Handy for testing I hope...
So this thread turns out to be Pi's thread huh? :P
Just got my Pi display on a Sony 26" LCD TV via AV cable. Unfortunately HDMI doesn't work. A quick search on Google seems to have solution. But now time to sleep. Good night all
@Waulok, if the Pi can be flashed with the Android image (which is currently still a bit buggy and slow) then we can simply run the Gideros App on it like on any other device. In fact you could also run the Gideros Player and debug on that. However as it stands, the current specs of the Pi do not allow for a stable Android image and hence it is a bit more difficult to port a gideros app for the Pi.
There are other baords that are simmilar and have on-board memory and can run Android, thereby allowing for Gideros apps to be run on them. These cost about $70-80 and there are plenty of sites that offer Android devices with touch screens, dual/quad processors etc for $110+ (that look like the Samsung Galaxy, Nexus) So it coes down to which device would you rather choose.
Raspberry Pi finally configured for dev on PC and remote debugging via gdb. Very cool, now to get on doing the some of the stuff I'm supposed to (instead of playing )
Any other Pi owners interested in using their PC to dev should check this out. Enjoy your new toys
@scouser, btw if you simply type out the link, the forum software is intelligent to convert it into a hyperlink and that way (though it looks ugly) it can be seen as to where it is intended to point to.

Looks like Sony TV is stubborn
I'd be interested to know how easy it would be to port Gideros apps to Pi!
