@atilim, I am in UK and am awaiting delivery of an Ouya so it is certainly easy to order one for delivery here. I'm not sure I'd say that they can "easily" ship here though, since it is two weeks since I was told it had been shipped and now I see (via the tracking no. that it is still in Hong Kong) @-)
@ar2rsawseen: No probs but for now just to test the upload to ouya process and get into submission I have sacrificed one of my slot machine apps to get onto the store as 100% free.
@atilim: UK takes about 3 weeks it seems but it's quicker to get one off eBay LOL
I have an app in submission from this morning. You basically have to add an intent filter (all in the Ouya dev docs) and an extra big xhdpi icon 'ouya_icon.png' and disregard the key.der file (which normally sits inside your .apk I think for Ouya IAP to read on purchase) if giving the app away at least to get the app into submission. I'm using trackpad/pointer so no key ouya specific bindings etc were required. All works well to be honest.
This is just a test run nothing more but I may get some free marketing out of it other than to show a gideros built app running on retail Ouya perhaps.
Have fun and get the Ouya export option and IAP done please LOL ...oh and Windows Phone 8 export - need that badly now too
And that means that I'll have a tester for this one http://giderosmobile.com/labs/ouya Controller should be working and I have a plan to look at IAPs this weekend, but as I can't really test it, I have no idea how much time it could take Will keep you updated
Well my Ouya has arrived today (in the UK) but I have £28 of duty to pay. On a $99 purchase that is rather steep. As it turns out I shouldn't have preordered and instead, should have paid £99 at Game (the shop), where I would have got hold of it 3 days earlier.
Quick question for OUYA owners. As I understood there can be multiple accounts for different players on one OUYA. Is it possible to switch accounts while still in the game? Or you would have to go out of the game, switch account and come back. As in, is there a need to handle situation where user account changes during the game?
Now to wait for a local dealer to stock these for $99 + pickup at store or the plethora of alternatives. Google is also planning to build one. This will be interesting.
@ar2rsawseen, I've just installed the GiderosPlayer that comes pre-built with the Labs download on the Ouya. What version of Gideros is this built with? It seems to have trouble running GiderosCodingEasy so I suspect it's an early version.
@bowerandy yes it has been a while, but I don't think it is that old. Any specific problems, errors? I'll be updating hopefully this weekend with Ouya IAP so I'll update the player also
@ar2rsawseen, I noticed that the Object class isn't defined and that GiderosCodingEasy gives errors when trying to overload existing functions. Also, it would be helpful if sockets were in there too .. would help with debugging using ZBS for example.
best regards
PS: really I thing the player should be built with as many useful plugins as possible (sockets, bitop etc) since flexibility will be more important than size.
@bowerandy I agree - the player should have everything included.

@ar2rsawseen Does the Ouya plugin allow for up to 4 joypads? I was going to do a version of Bacteria on it, but with up to 4 players.

@bowerandy noted, haven't thought of that. But there are also instructions to install it to your own exported project, just in case if you can't wait till the update
@ar2rsawseen, as you probably know I'm not very Android focussed and all this Eclipse stuff makes me go queasy. Is there a "Building the Gideros Android plugin for Dummies" post somewhere that I can follow. I tried reading the instructions in the labs download but they didn't mean that much to me.
@bowerandy I've recommended Gideros too a few people too, a doc that does all this - start to finish - would be good for them.

Ok guys, spend whole day and I think I've implemented OUYA IAP, also added deadzone check for joysticks and passing player Id with button, joystick and trigger events. Also option to get user ID and event if user is changed (one logged out, other logged in)
New version uploaded to Gideros Labs.
Keep in mind that: 1) I can't launch the project, so I have no idea if it works, I can only build it to see if it compiles, etc. 2) it is past the midnight and I'm kind of sleepy, so maybe I also messed up something, but to know that I need your help.
Fingers crossed, please try it
About tutorials, we should probably have a video tutorials and docs explaining it etc, I'll put it on my todo list.
Will test it out when the new version of Gideros is out - so I don't have to do the player twice. Any idea when that might be, it must be soon?

Ho hum.
Best regards
And don't worry if I order OUYA to Latvia, I'll basically pay double price for it
On the other hand if I'll buy it from UK, I won't have to pay so much in taxes, because it is already inside EU, right?

Hmm.
Now to find a place that stocks Ouya in Australia...
