My app is mute on ipad while the sound works on iphone. Any clue?

I am finally using testflight to test my app (I don't have a real ipad, only the xcode simulated one where the sound works) but my friend told me that while on her iphone my app works as expected, on the ipad the audio is mute (doesn't work at all).

I am using compressed mp3 VBR because I have around 6k small sounds there, and I'd like to keep the app size down.

Do you know of any difference between the audio management of the two iOS? Same last version installed on both devices, and other apps on the same ipad have sound.

I should not have made this question, since it was due to a "quiet mode" setting on that ipad I am sorry I thought my friend was smarter.
