it seems you are using windows (10?), is your machine 64bit?
Does your graphic card support opengl 3?

If all the above are met try to uninstall gideros and reinstall it from scratch.

    i am using laptop, windows 8.1 64bit
    Intel® HD Graphics 4600 (OpenGl 4.3, Dx 11.2/12) and
    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 880M with 4GB GDDR5 VRAM
    pyqt 5 and 6 installed, python 3.10
    Edit(add):
i tried uninstall a few times (both using the 'uninstall.exe' or 'remove older version'),
both the older version or the new ones,
    and the problem still exist.
i tried replace the *.DLLs with the older version still doesn't work.

Sorry I cannot help further :/
As far as I understand you don't need anything like python, pyqt, ... for gideros to work, it should work out of the box.

If you need to export to android then you would need to install android studio separately.

I have just downloaded version 2022.5.1 will try to install it now and give feedback asap.

ok just installed latest 2022.5.1 and can confirm that works on my machine windows 10 64bits.

Maybe something changed for windows 8.1 between gideros releases?

You should get an answer from the developers soon. Sorry I cannot help more :'(

    offtopic:
what does "Accept" or "Reject" link means ?
should i click only after i have solution(s) or i could just ignore it ?
or i just click everytime there is a reply ?
i mean... is there any consequent for both party (bad rep etc)
*i rarely interaction in forum...years..even before pandemic.. no active social media etc*
*well...even in real life... i rarely talk with other..except with parents*

    EDIT:
i just click all "Accept", hopefully it is not missleading for the reader who have the same problem (no QT platform plugin error).

"accept" and "reject" appear on a thread you created. When somebody answers your question and the answer helps you toward finding a solution to your problem, you can mark it as accepted for other people to know it helped solve the problem.

On the contrary, when you don't like an answer to your question then you can reject it.

Or you can ignore "accept" and "reject" altogether :p .

There is not really something like a user's score but it helps other people find good answers :)

Please note: there is also this +1 and -1 to evaluate an answer.

Welcome to the gideros forum gamedevid :) .

Sorry if that won’t help, but for Gideros 2022.5 we upgraded Qt from 6.2.3 to 6.3. I didn’t see any compatibility drop in the change log, but Qt 6 is said to run on win 10 and above, not 8.1. Maybe 6.3 requires a DLL/API that isn’t available on Windows 8.1 ?
