What's the Gideros license?

Hi, guys.

I came across Gideros while watching a youtube channel and it mentioned it is free and that its code is in github.

I looked for but I failed to discover in which license is Gideros released? MIT? BSD? GPL?

I understand that it's free, but see, depending on the licensing it was release, it has different implications in your work.

For instance, if its license is GPL3, it means all games developed with it must be open source. If its license is either MIT or BSD one has no obligation to release its game as open source.

But I failed to find out what specific license Gideros is released, that's why I'm asking for help here.

Gideros itself is MIT/BSD licensed, but it uses several libs with various licenses. see here: https://github.com/gideros/gideros/blob/master/licenses.txt

Basically gideros is free to use and free to modify, but must be kept open source (mostly due to QT license). Softs made using Gideros are relicensable under whatever you want.

In short, anything you export using Gideros can be closed source. eg just the object code, executable, etc... You don't have to worry.

Or maybe he wants to launch his own commercial engine based on the Gideros code.

For games, the license is not important, even if you made the game on a commercial engine with a breach of license - no one can prove it
