@pie thanks. I don;t think this is the issue though. It is just this one project that has done this. All of my other projects run fine at 60Fps. I think I might need to recreate the project and see what happens.
*slap* nevermind I found the issue. I have a loop that processes all game objects but I had stupidly also put all of my other code (particle handler, sound handler, etc) in that same loop. The end result was that everything was being called as many times as there were game objects!
