I was wondering if the new plans of microsoft make everything simpler in long-term? i know it's already late in a sense as we have (almost) already win etc support from kickstarter (which is great!), but maybe the possibility that android code can be compiled for windows is another solution in longterm? are there any drawbacks? does this new option allow to compile desktop apps or only 'metro' apps? i'm interested in your opinions, especially of the core team who work on developing gideros.

It maybe that might make things easier or not. I don't think it will affect Win32, but possibly WinPhone and WinMetro. The added layer might slow things down, maybe not...
