Forum updates

Hi guys,

There are 3 updates to the forum:

1. You can see an excerpt of each discussion on the main page, defaulting to 15 words.
2. The author of each discussion is now seen on the main page too.
3. You can upload any file to the forum now.

(3) was also asked before, so the feature is there now.

Hope these small touches makes the forum a much better, collaborative space.

The max file size for PHP was 2 MB and I increased it to 8 MB now. Can you try again?

Hello.
I have question. Why do you not use a other forum engine? For example the SMF(free) or vBulletin (paid). I'm very interesting
But i saw one plus of this engine. It home-like atmosphere

I personally like Vanilla forum . Clean, simple and has that "we're different" mentality to it haha.

I like Vanilla forum. But I would like to have buttons to insert quotes, code and stuff like that. So you don't need to type the needed code for it yourself.

@sergeyka we tried phpbb before, and I used (as an ordinary user) SMF and vbulletin. Usability and simplicity of Vanilla forums attracted us a lot. It's right to the point and has no bells and whistles, so we chose Vanilla.

@mikehart let me have a look if there are such shortcut buttons.
