  Well the paid version of Gideros is basically subscription based as you pay for it every year.

  @BlueByLiquid, you might have also noticed that most of the framework/SDK's are now offering their iOS publishing tools for Free, be it CoronaSDK, Unity, Appcelerator, Gideros, Moai along with paid options for support and added functionality. The ones that don't will soon have to offer their tools for free than simple evaluation versions if they do want to survive in this tools/SDK/framework space. The free offering gets them more developers creating apps, more apps = more popularity, more popularity and a Hit app = More publicity = Larger Game Studios purchasing their Pro licenses.
  
  Look at the number of apps that are created with C*SDK, there is a lot of crap present, but still there are quite a few hundred apps, they use that to indicate a stable and aptly usable framework, plus the licensing deals with the larger corporations like Dreamworks, EA, etc.
