I have 3 options, and need to choose one:

1. Burstly
2. Chartboost
3. Mopub

Has anyone have real-life experience with them? Please share. Thanks :)

    What's your end goal?
Increase the number of dl in your own app network or increase revenues?

Here is a very simplified overview :

Case A > Increase your install base
    Your apps are W, X, Y (free)
You create a new app Z (or make an update to Z, updates are good reasons for this) and want to redirect all your traffic from W, X, Y to Z -> Chartboost make it very easy from the dashboard.
You can play with it as you see fit (redirect all to your free "Valentine's day" app, where there is a path to upgrade to paid through IAP, etc).

Case B > Increase revenues from Ads
I've seen good results with Revmob (high CPI) and fullscreen Ads.
Advertisers there are very profitable and can invest more.
    Bids are lower on Chartboost.

The two services overlap for other things...
Please note that each network has its own audience too.
I can't comment on the others (Burstly, Mopub).

My suggestion : You could do A/B testing, add all networks and pause campaigns.
There's no better way to see what works better for you I guess.

This is what I analyzed/researched while working with a few companies. I didn't test with my own apps yet.

  • I can add more about MoPub,

MoPub is an aggregator ads network that could handle AdMob, iAds, Millenial Media, Mopub Ads Marketplace, even custom ads network on one single SDK. You could control it realtime from web based dashboard. So you could arrange it to gain near 100% fill rate

  • One question, how many of these actually pay when money is due to the developer. Plus since the agreement would be with a 3rd party for each of the AD providers, what would you get, when and how?

  • You put your details in the 3rd party sites then put your 3rd party details into the 2nd party system (MoPub in this case). It basically draws the data from the 3rd party dependant on your settings. You still get your money for 3rd party ads from the 3rd party (not mopub unless it directly promoted the ads).

    Hope this makes sense. :)

    @SinisterSoft

so basically you need to make accounts in all 3rd parity add systems to get paid when using 2nd party systems? And you get paid in each of the account separately?

Or all of those 3rd party systems pay to 2nd party systems and then they pay you.
If so, how much do they charge for mediation?
  • The same question with @ar2rsawseen. For me it's time to dig into ads mediation

    As far as I know

    1. Just like SinisterSoft said:
    - We have to register accounts in 3rd party ads network
    - Payment is directly from 3rd party

    2. How do ads mediation services make money?
    - Some services may be really free
    - Some free for a certain amount of impressions per month, if exceeds you have to subscribe for pro
    - Some charge you a little percentage right away

  • @ar2rsawseen yes (the first one!) - you collect money from the 3rd parties.

You can choose one of them even after publishing your app. Try something like Adsweetcher and see which works best for you.
