So, I went here: https://developers.google.com/admob/ios/quick-start

And copied the SKAdNetworkItems key and its values to Info.plist and the warning went away.

I take it that those that don't update this list manually will be missing out on these new ad network.]]>

Wax hasn't been supported in a long time so I took it upon myself to get it working again in Gideros.  It's now compiling and running against both Lua 5.1 and Gideros Luau.  There's still going to be some bugs but I'm happy to open it up for testing.

Some time ago, following @atilim 's <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.giderosmobile.com/forum/discussion/2564/please-integrate-crittercism-or-any-other-alternative#Item_1">request</a>, I added Crittercism crash logging to my app under development. Imagine my surprise when I found nothing in the logs following several "crashes". This was, of course, because these crashes I'd experienced weren't actually caused by real exceptions at all but rather they were "just" Lua errors. Unfortunately, in such circumstances Gideros just prints a stack trace to the console and then exits normally. Nothing get's sent to Crittercism for later perusal.

Recently, I got down to sorting this out and I've now written a plugin that allows you to detect Lua crashes *and* get hold of the Lua stack trace when things went wrong. You can find full details and a download link for the plugin in this blog article:

As you'll see if you read the article, I found that neither Crittercism nor BugSense are suitable for this purpose and I opted for Crashlytics. This is no bad thing, since it turns out that Crashlytics is now <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.crashlytics.com/blog/crashlytics-enterprise-is-now-free/">completely free to use</a>.

Here's a short (two-line) stack dump that shows how it appears in the Crashlytics dashboard (newlines are replaced by *** markers):

Note that the plugin, as it stands, is written for iOS. However, there's nothing in there that should preclude an easy port to Android. If anyone manages to do this, please let me know.

We are getting quite a lot of crashes in our flagship app that we want to resolve quickly.  So, I've been looking at using Flurry as a short term solution.  We decided to use Flurry because we want to turn off crash reporting in the EEA to be GDPR compliant.

I've taken a look at the plugin but the methods are depreciated.

I want to add the following

new FlurryAgent.Builder()
            .withLogEnabled(true)
            .withCaptureUncaughtExceptions(true)
            .withContinueSessionMillis(10000)
            .withLogLevel(Log.VERBOSE)
            .build(this, FLURRY_API_KEY);
}

I managed to get it reporting.  I also discovered that crash reporting for iOS is disabled by default.

        <description><![CDATA[I am not sure how much work would it involve since I rely on the good heart of @hgy29 to build gideros because I am not proficient enough to touch gideros source code, however I noticed that the sqlite3 plugin embedded in gideros is still using version 3.7.17 (released  in 2013 - print(sqlite3.version()) ) while there were many updates in the current sqlite3 development.

The logcat says "invalid application id"!! No matter what I have tried it does not seems to work. The player runs only if i remove the ads plugin from my project but that is not something I want to do. Till now I have tried the admob test app id, and the real id that i created in admob just for the player. I still get the same error. Dont know what else to try. Any help would be much appreciated. I'm developing an android app which relies on a custom plugin, so I need to build a player with that plugin incorporated.
Before making it, I wanted to try my hand at creating a player with a plugin that is already known working.
I based myself on this thread to figure out how to make &amp; run a player w/ a plugin on my device: https://forum.giderosmobile.com/discussion/830/creating-a-simple-android-plugin#Item_10
Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting a player with a user plugin to work on my phone.

What I'm using:
Android API 28
NDK r25
Gideros Studio 2023.6
Android Studio 2022.2.1
Eclipse 2019-06
Target device is an Honor 7x BND-L21 running android 28

What I tried:

-Making a blank project, exporting it as Android (Target API 28)
-Importing the project under Android Studio
-Running on phone
It works

-Making an empty project with the plugin "clipper"
-Same process as above
It works

-Making a project with the plugin "bitop" mentioned in the thread above
-Importing under Android Studio
-Adding the libbitop.so file in the jniLibs folders
-Adding the line "System.loadLibrary("bitop");" in the [AppName]\Activity.java file
-Running on phone
It crashes immediately


So I switched to Eclipse to try and have the same conditions as in the thread:

-Imported the blank project under Eclipse
-Switched the build target to android 28 (it was set to 15 by default)
-Ran the app on phone
It crashed immediately


I noted that removing the "assets" folder (which is empty) has no effect in any scenario I tested.

I can try using an older API, but seeing that I can't even create a clean player with Eclipse, I feel like I'm missing something important here. Any help would be appreciated.]]>

        <description><![CDATA[I am trying to implement a bug report tool embedded in my app, where users can send short strings of text saying what is gone wrong. 

The easiest way I can think of doing it is using openURL

But it has some downsides, first of which is that the user has to send me an email through his/her personal email account, and I feel that while this might be appropriate for a selected testing group, it is not for a paying user.

Since I only need to get short strings I thought I could rely on an online db, which might be the firebase real time db. 
Is it already usable through the firebase plugin? If that is the case, is there any documentation on where to start?

However it's the first time I am approaching firebase, and maybe it's too much for what I need. 

I am open to any alternative: any way to send a string of text without asking the user to act outside my app, to be recorded somewhere on the internet.

When I connect my joystick it appears on console that there is a player. When I try moving the analogic or the arrows it prints on the screen correctly. But any other keys returns an error like this:

And the console simply don't work anymore.

Error updating google play services in plugin ads.

I recently uploaded an app to google play... and everything is fine,

I am using in the ads plugin
<b>"google play services version": 16.0.0</b>

and GIDEROS 2023.1


but I get the following "warning":

but when I put 20.0.0 in plugin <b>ads </b>and in plugin <b>gaming</b>

I get errors and it doesn't build the apk or abb...

Moving the parameters a bit, setting it to 19.0.0 seems to be accepted, but I get several errors, more related to the plugin, for example:

They are integrating ADMOB to their projects with a version greater than 16.0.0

        <description><![CDATA[Hi guys, it's been a long time I am not using Gideros (but always lurking) and I am happy to see that the community is still thriving! :smiley: 
Now I forgot almost everything I learned in the past years of using gideros, and something is probably changed, but I hope I will recover something on the way.. 

I came back to see if I can make use of ImGui: it's the first time I am using it and I am moving my first steps.
I basically copied the first example found on github and it crashes my windows player. Shall I do something to enable the plugin in the windows player? Am I doing something unexpected?

This is my code so far, in main.lua, thank you!

        <description><![CDATA[Hey, all. I'm assuming I'm missing something obvious, or if not what I'm running into must be something others would have encountered and solved:

With Gideros versions prior to 2021-5 (when Google billing version 3 was added) I can export an APK or bundle of my new game just fine, but Google won't accept it.  With either the latest Gideros or with 20121-5, if my app includes the IAB plugin, I get errors when either by trying to export directly to a bundle, or if I try to build the export in Android Studio.  The errors start with the line "import androidx.annotation.NonNull;" in IabGoogle.java. I get "Cannot resolve symbol 'NonNull".

I thought perhaps now any app using Iab for Google might also need the Google Licensing plugin (it would make sense) so I've added that, but that had no effect. I tried adding the Google Play Services plugin, despite being deprecated, but that just introduced new errors.

It does build if I have the Iab and deprecated Google Play Services plugins included and not the Google Licensing plugin, except that final step (RmDir: tmp) fails, because OpenJDK Platform still has something open in that folder. The APK or bundle gets built, so that's my workaround for the moment, but it seems like I must be missing something if the only way I can get an export to build is with the deprecated plugin.

I've gone as far as uninstalling and reinstalling both Gideros and Android Studio, but the problem persists.

Any ideas?

They introduced some changes for iOS related to privacy. 

I have a new app (working on it for 2 years) and it is time to add adds and publish it.
Just wanted to know if I will have any challenges with Admob plugins for iOS and Android.

        <description><![CDATA[I wrote a custom plugin 3 years ago for a project which exported and worked fine using a version of Gideros in 2018. In a completely different project using same plugin I get the following error when I package the project in iOS.

Lua error:./Tools/export_ios.lua:156: Error: group GroupIOSSupport is not defined (yet)

Using version 2021.9

The same error appears when I compile the 3 year old project.]]>
