  • @zimarrio, Are you sure that SKProducts is added and available? Check if the productsRequest is nil or an actual table value (i.e. valid result). I think you need to include the required libraries and recompile to include them. To me it seems that …
  • Hi Pie, If you have a copy of my Book, on Page 74, there is a function that exists to split strings. It is simply 4 lines of code and are function string:split(sep) local sep, fields = sep or ":", {} local pattern = string.format("([^%s]+)", …
  • @Hubert, since the minimum requirement is iOS8, it will be a little difficult to test/try the app at this time. However if you had the minimum requirement to be 6.x or 7.x you could get more people to try it.
  • What would you do if there was a chunk of code you just deleted and then saved and run the project a couple of times, How would you get to that previous version? Unless you have automatic Check-in happening at every run, I think this is going to be …
  • @john26, I am sure your repository would be one that would have quite a few followers once you have a derivate from Gideros Code.
  • @talis, the only other possibility is that @Atilim could have had some potential interest from a company to the source code of Gideros and could have been asked to maintain silence till this deal is over. So he cannot give away the source code and n…
  • @Cyberience, The article was current and correct when it was written. Unfortunately things and tech change at a much faster rate than we can cope with them. I will revisit that and update it when I can, thanks for bringing it to my notice. I was w…
  • @jimlev, table.sort is a very powerful function and you would get what you want even with a multi-dimension table. To do a custom sort, you can write your own function or a simple comparison statement like a > b, for mutli-dimension sort, you ca…
  • @OZApps I'd buy it Not 100% what that was in reference to, hope it was to the Hint, Hint!
  • ...and yes, I chose Lua because it took away from all of the overheads of writing boilerplate code to get things done. Swift surprisingly is similar, compact and easy to read. It might catch on, it is a bit like lua, a bit difficult to grasp at firs…
  • Hi @ArtLeeApps, Yes it has been a long time, been busy... lots of things happening... Are you going for DevWorld? I was supposed to be a speaker for that event, but could not as I will be overseas at that time. yes I love the cross platform abil…
  • I started messing around with Swift + Sprite Kit over the weekend... It's a stinking pile of poo. I spent the majority of my time figuring out what types to use. Lua really is a dream come true, and Gideros is rock solid. I'd hate to have to switch…
  • @jacko, simplest way to deal with that is default values using or local czas = dataSaver.loadValue("|D|somevalue") or 0 no more code to add or things to do
  • It would perhaps be easier if you unzipped and made the files available in a normal ZIP format or provided links to the FDB expanders. perhaps like this one on GitHub https://github.com/McBen/FDB_Extractor2
  • that is a very old thread from 2012, not relevant anymore and by @MikeHart, so it is genuine and not a spam. I think he might have wanted to know how to switch off the Mobile view that most websites show when browsing on a mobile device as compared…
  • Do you have any idea on how much longer before the code is released?
  • I updated the new version on the iPhone - and the first thing is AD's I like that you have the joystick like movement or maybe I got used to that now, it does get confusing when the character turns and the controls get reversed. In regards to the…
  • what do you mean by miscellaneous, perhaps if you typed the c++ or pascal equivalent.
  • @Mells, the last link was not about your post, and the money was not related to your suggestions either. My point on that link was to what level do people stoop. I saw a couple of guys compile the source code at Beer SDK and put them on the app sto…
  • And with blatant flaunting like this http://www.techinasia.com/indonesia-game-developer-toge-productions-accuses-chinese-pirate-stealing-infectonator-survivors-and-more-games/ is there anything left in terms of ethics, moralities, etc? Everything i…
  • I don't think it takes so long, most probably @atilim is just busy with other things. Sorry, can't comment more, don't have info, we can get back to the topic after source code release Do you have any idea on that? Source Code Release? It is more th…
  • The bigger question is how many would be able to use the OpenSource opportunity. As @mells has pointed out, those that can work with the C++ source and compiler settings and 3rd party libs could use and extend the OpenSource code for personal use. H…
  • @godrar, love the graphics. In the thumbnails, the ball looks odd and then when zoomed, it looks but doesn't look... try to get the gloss from the center to the top right corner, it might change the look of the ball better. At the moment it is lacki…
  • Oh that was the "something went wrong" -> No ADS.... lol when I meant swipe, I meant more like a joystick sliding the finger to change direction and height, not swipe as in a swipe gesture. So I take it that it is not like a joystick or is it?

  • @tkhnoman, I got to d/l it for the iOS, looks nice and works fine however not yet accustomed to the controls. Do you swipe left for left or swipe left for right? It is not very clear as it flies with a mind of its own.

  • Nice, look forward to the iOS version.

  • @Premal, There are a lot of discussions on what should be done. In reference to your points, 1. Agreed - Windows Phone support is definitely a requirement as much as Windows Desktop support 2. At least the Xcode project exported is much better th…
  • Ummm, objects could be serialized but not as easily as properties. The biggest issue is that Lua works on pointers and every object created gets a new address, so if these addresses are serialized, they would not point back to the relevant objects.
  • Appreciate a link to the GitHub too if possible. Having the code does not mean anything so need to check if it would help in any way to expand and use it for specific projects or would it be easier to rely on new binary builds.
  • @Helios, did you try a do .. end to encapsulate the code? do your gideros code here end
