I agree with your points it would be helpful to have those features already in the template for sure. Let's see what @atilim has to say and go from there
That example runs really well on my phone heh I like it very interesting polygon/texture coding. Until I saw this code I didn't really think about how you could use the shape class for some nifty effects. Look forward to seeing how this goes for sure.

- if somebody wants to contribute to the code (add comments, and more organized code as suggested by @atilim) please raise your hand so we can see how to share the work.
- @ar2rsawseen If you want to update your game template and make it available in this new template, that would really be great
- Nobody commented on this but as I said, I believe it's important to integrate (or make it easy to "plug" so it can be updated from one source) multistroke gesture recognition done by @bowerhaus because that could be a great way to enhance the gameplay and not end up with xx clones of Fruit Ninja made by Gideros users.
Once we know more about all those things, I will provide some visual art (placeholders) under CC so the Gideros Team can use it as an official template.If this community has the skills to make it easier for atilim to focus on other priorities (or get some sleep!), let's do it ourselves.
It's a waste if this great piece of code is not used more and more.
Remember we are not making a game this time, but a template.
Let's make it a great learning resource, and a good starting point for whoever wants to :
- Learn best coding practices
- Has the plan to add his own twist to the *slice* genre thanks to multistroke gesture recognition
- wants to replace provided visuals with his own quickly and efficiently

If the template requires an options screen then by all means modify this one to better suit the template. Or when the template is mature enough, I may update it myself if that's what is required.

Great, I believe the ones that will take care of programming will do it.

That could be something achievable with this template.
From my understanding what we want to release is not a game, so we don't need to think about gameplay. The feature just has to be there, available for the developer that wants to use it.
In the demo available with the template, for example, swipe an object to slice it.
Make a circle around another one to highlight it (the console could display "Circle Drawn. Object 1 highlighted").
So : the gesture is recognized, and the developer adds an action triggered by a condition.
gesture recognition is all that is needed in the template, a few actions and triggers will be shown in the demo but it will totally be up to the developer to manage it for his own applications.

Until the first condition is met, the template will be in paused status.Unless we ask @atilim to work on it, but I believe we have the resources on this forum to let him focus on other priorities.

About gesture recognition, some vegetables may have gesture figures on them and before slicing user should draw the gesture to dispel/break the shield on the vegetable. (dispel the shield on vegetable -> I'm watching naruto too much)

I hope this template will become a great learning resource for people new to Gideros but also for more advanced developers that want another solid basis for quick prototyping.
I hope we can make it available in the coming weeks.
